Konstantinos Markakis is a Lawyer at the Supreme Court of Greece.
He was admitted to the Athens Bar Association in 1987 and is the founder of the law office “Markakis and Associates.” He is a graduate of the Law Department and the Department of Public Law and Political Sciences of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has and extensive experience in Civil Law matters, both in advisory and litigation level, and unique specialization in Expropriation law.
He has represented individuals and legal entities before the competent courts and authorities in expropriation cases. He has participated in expropriation trials concerning landmark projects, such as the Athens Metro, Attiki Odos, Athens Airport. He has also extensively dealt with cases of land parcelling and urban planning expropriations, as well as expropriations for archaeological purposes. Since 2013, he has been providing his services both advisory and before the competent courts in expropriation cases as an external legal advisor to the company “ERGOSE S.A.,” a subsidiary of Hellenic Railways Organization, which is responsible for the planning, development, and construction of the railway network in Greece.

Before joining the office, he worked for over a decade with law firms advising domestic and foreign investors on real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, lease contracts, and the establishment of liens over them.
He has also extensively dealt with the resolution of civil and commercial disputes, both judicially and extrajudicially, having represented, among others, financial institutions, brokerage firms and listed companies.
